Mon: 12:00 PM
The Michigan City and Long Beach DBC’s are planning to resume in-person, at-the-table bridge in June. Exact start dates of play for both clubs will be emailed to players around the third week of May. At this time, it is not known if our Virtual Club games will continue past May/June.
Before players will be allowed to play in Michigan City and/or Long Beach, they will be required to sign a waiver that they have received their COVID-19 vaccines (two Pfizer or Moderna doses or a
single dose Johnson & Johnson ) at least two weeks prior to the first day they want to play. Players will be required to bring their CDC card to show proof of vaccination the first time they play. If you have not yet received your vaccination, you are urged to do so immediately.
The participation and waiver guidelines to be signed will be emailed to all players and will also be available when players arrive to play the first time. The waiver will inform players that they are
playing at their own risk, and they will not hold any person responsible should a player contact COVID. These persons include any staff member or official associated with the playing facilities, the bridge directors, or other players themselves.
Players will be asked to remain home with any symptoms of COVID, such as a cough, fever, nausea or other illness, or if they have been exposed to anyone with COVID. To further aid in the safety of the players, contactless forehead temperatures will be taken at each session. If a players’ temperature is 100 degrees or more, they will be asked to leave. Masks will be required at all times, covering both the nose and mouth. This mask rule will be enforced even if the Governor of Indiana or local officials deem masks are no longer necessary. It goes beyond saying that social distancing and the sanitation of all objects associated with bridge will be carried out. East & West players will travel from table to table with their bidding boxes, and the use of hand sanitizer will be enforced at every table.
